Vladimir Palicka, MUDr CSc, Professor of Internal Medicine and Professor of Clinical Biochemistry, has been Dean of the School of Medicine in Hradec Králové, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic, since 2003. He has been repeatedly elected as the Chairman of the Association of Deans in the Czech Republic, representing all medical schools in the country.
Graduating MUDr in 1970 he started his professionalcareer in clinical biochemistry, at a national and later an international level (he is former President of the European Association of Clinical Chemistry and Vice President of the International Federation). In recent years he has focused on endocrinology and clinical osteology, being a founding member of the Czech Society for Metabolic Bone Diseases. Since 2005, the Medical School in Hradec Králové has organised an International Medical Postgraduate Conference (sub-title New Frontiers in the Research Work of Ph.D. Students), attended last year by PhD students form Medical Schools and Schools of Pharmacy from ten European countries.
Vladimir Palicka was elected to the AMSE Executive Committee in 2009.
